The Sonnenzeigen,
with the Messer you want to bow him.
Feel for the shoulders,
press against the neck firmly.

Here the Master speaks about a piece that is named Sonnenzeigen. Do it like this. When he strikes at you or you at him and the Messers clash, let the hilt of your Messer go over his Messer to his right side and step with your left foot behind his right. Grab his left shoulder with your left hand and pull him at you firmly. Raise your hilt and cross beneath his neck and push his throat firmly into the back of his neck. This is called Sonnenzeigen in the Messer.

When he feels for,
and presses firmly against the neck,
let your right arm go over
and take his balance at the elbow.

Here the Master explains a counter to the Sonnenzeigen. When he has let his hilt go over your Messer and against your neck and when his left is at your left shoulder, drop your Messer and let your right hand go through or between his arms. Go with your right hand onto his right arm to the back of his elbow and pull it to your right side strongly. Let your left hand go to his right elbow from the outside and beneath to help your right hand. Turn your left side to his right and push with both hands and full force to your right side. Thus his right arm and Messer will become locked over your left as pictured below.

If he has caught you with the hilt as before and aims to do the Sonnenzeigen, let your Messer go beneath his both arms on your left side, letting the point face behind the back. Let your hilt and right arm go up with the guarded hand and pull your chest back slightly. Indes push firmly with your hilt over his right elbow, letting the point face up at the inside of his arm and the hilt towards the ground. Push strongly down to your right side from above with the guarded hand.

Another counter. If he holds you like before with the Sonnenzeigen, let your Messer go beneath both of his arms again with the point on your left side. Let your hilt go up between his arms and over his hand and pull down strongly with the hilt. Push down from above with the blade of your Messer and turn around to your right side.
