The equipment requirements comply with the recommendations of the DDHF framework regulations.
Exceptions:
Jackets: 350N or higher, provided that a rigid chest protector is worn underneath.
Groin protection for women: optional
Required
- (Largely) dent-free fencing mask with a 1600N chin guard and rigid back-of-the-head protection
- Rigid neck protection
- 800N jacket or a 350N jacket with separate chest protection worn underneath
- 350N fencing pants
- Groin protection (men)
- Chest protection (women)
- Rigid knee and shin guards suitable for HEMA (with sufficient protection on the sides of the knees as well)
- Rigid gloves (mittens are preferred, but 5-finger gloves that provide very good protection are also permitted)
- Appropriate indoor shoes
Equipment will be checked for completeness and functionality before the tournament begins. In addition, all protective gear must be made of plastic, not metal. Furthermore, no sharp or pointed corners or edges may be present on the equipment.
